The Royal Swedish Academy of History, Letters and Antiquities produces a wide range of publications, for academic and more general readerships, either as free-standing monographs or as parts of long-established series. Most books are published in Swedish with an English abstract, but many directly target an international audience.


Publications are ordered online and are also available through the Academy Library.

Inaugural addresses by newly elected members, commemorative lectures on deceased colleagues, and academic articles are published in the Academy Yearbook. The Yearbook also contains a register of members and data about the Academy’s current activities.

Since 1906 the Academy publishes the periodical Fornvännen (Journal of Swedish Antiquarian Research), the leading journal of Swedish antiquarian research. The journal is published in printed format and is also available open access at
